history
Lex Camany has dedicated all his life to the agricultural industry.  As a young man he worked in the lettuce fields every summer to earn money to attend college.  From a water boy to loading cartons on trucks then graduating to a truck driver taking product from the field to cooler, Lex learned what it takes to get product to the consumer.

After graduating from Chico State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and Pomology, Lex went to work for the Mexican Government directly under the Secretary of Agriculture coordinating all of their research work.  Upon returning from Mexico two years later, he created the strawberry department at Hartnell College teaching college level students how to grow and harvest strawberries.  Later he started his own strawberry operation growing 90+ acres of strawberries.  In the year 2000, Lex brought together two companies forming a spring mix and spinach operation which grew tremendously over the past 6 years.  In the year 2001, Joyce Camany entered into sales and was instrumental in helping develop this company.  She was moved into the Quality Assurance Department to handle the California Leafy Greens program and interact with associates in the industry.

Joyce was raised on a farm helping her dad grow row crops moving pipes for irrigating, driving tractor to roll beds, planting and even helping her grandmother hoe weeds every summer.  After her education, she went to work for the Monterey County Agricultural Commissioner as a Produce Inspector for over 15 years.  As a quality control inspector, she inspected all commodities to insure standards were being met.

In the summer of 2007, The Salad Farm was created bringing together different growing groups, a major processor and sales under one roof.  Here experts in each of these respective fields provide one of the best quality products in the industry today.  The quality and freshness upon arrival shows the example of years of experience in the field of agriculture.
