The Salad Farm LLC joins Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement
Sacramento, CA - September 7, 2007. The Salad Farm LLC is the latest handler to join the California Leafy Green Products Handler Marketing Agreement. Based in Salinas, California, The Salad Farm LLC becomes the newest signatory member of the LGMA, joining over 110 industry members.
"We want to welcome The Salad Farm to the Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement," said LGMA CEO Scott Horsfall. "Like our other members, The Salad Farm is dedicated to providing the safest, healthiest leafy greens to consumers everywhere."
The Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement was formed in response to E. coli outbreak that was linked to California Spinach last year. The marketing agreement represents approximately 99% of the leafy greens industry in California, and requires of signatories that they implement and maintain the highest standards of safety in growing and handling Spinach, Lettuce and other leafy greens.
